Once you're in the server, you'll see everyone else chatting about this and that. The Silent Noobs server does not currently run any type of chat channels plugin. So, communicating with other players is very easy. Just press the 't' key and start typing! As a community, The Silent Noobs also uses a Voice Over IP system called Teamspeak. If you have a headset and a microphone, we suggest you install Teamspeak so you can vocally chat with us rather than typing in-game. It makes everything much easier and brightens the experience.

Why is My Name Pink?
Our server has a simple system for players to automatically grant themselves build rights. If you join the server and your name is in pink, then just go to our website, www.silentnoobs.com and enter your exact Minecraft name into the box at the top of the page. There are a few short instructions on the page after you submit your name. We prefer this system over full whitelisting because we want players to be able to join the server and interact with others even before they get build rights.
Are Mods Allowed?
Most client side mods are not allowed. The obvious ones are Xray (and xray texture packs), cave finders, wall hacks, speed hacks, and hacks that exploit bugs in the game. Fly mods are allowed ONLY for donating members. If in doubt, don't use it or ask an admin.
Are There Starter Kits?
You're in luck! Type /kit starter to get a kit with a few essential items. Be aware that this kit can only be used once a month, so watch out where you die. There is also a light kit if you're in a dark area and need some torches to keep going, type /kit light.
